Newborn haircare primarily consists of washing your baby's hair and scalp so excess oil doesn't build up.
Once you've prepared a warm bath about 98 degrees and you've gathered all of your supplies, including the bath towel, baby shampoo, and a small cup for rinsing, it's time to get started.
• As you put your baby into the bath, cradle them with your arm, carefully supporting their head and neck.
• Use the small cup to wet your baby's hair before applying any shampoo. Be sure to shield their eyes!
• For optimal haircare, lather their hair with a gentle shampoo specifically made for newborns, like Mustela Gentle Shampoo, Foam Shampoo For Newborns, or Stelatopia Foam Shampoo.
• Rinse the shampoo out of their hair using the cup, again protecting their eyes.
• Dry their hair gently by patting it with a towel.
• If their hair is long enough, comb through it.
